75 Ball Bingo or 90 Ball Bingo
You'll find that most sites offer two types of Bingo - 75 Ball and 90 Ball Bingo. Both are fun to play, but I prefer the 90 ball version as there are more chances to win!
75 Ball Bingo
The 75 Ball game is the American version of Bingo and is usually over much quicker than its 90 ball counterpart. In 75 ball Bingo , players will use cards with 25 numbers on them in a 5 x 5 grid corresponding to the five letters in the word B-I-N-G-O. Numbers such as B-15 or G-59 are then drawn at random until one player matches all of the numbers in a given pattern. The first player to match all numbers is declared the winner and is awarded all of the money in the pot.
90 Ball Bingo
90 Ball Bingo is favoured by UK and Australian players and you'll find that your Bingo card is layed out differently. This card (or strip) is made up of 3 lines and 9 columns giving you 27 numbers to match. In a 90 ball game you will get 3 chances to win. The first player to match up one full line will win a proportion of the winners pot. The first player to match up two full lines will win a bigger slice of the pot. The biggest prize goes to the player who is first to get a full house ie. match all numbers on their card.
Online Bingo Chat Rooms.
One of the most fun parts about online bingo is the chat room. The ability to talk with a friend that can be 3000 miles away; is one if the biggest draws to online Bingo. Regardless of the site, players are always chatting away and making new friends, wishing each other luck and congratulating each other on wins. Everything is kept in check by a chat room host who will keep the conversation going and keep it relatively clean! You'll also find that many online Bingo sites now have celebrities chatting to players in the rooms - how do you fancy chatting with the likes of Sharon Osborne, Katie Price (aka Jordan) or Russell Grant?
Helpful Hint - when you first enter an Online Bingo chat room you are quite likely to think that people are talking in a strange foreign language! Don't worry though; players are just using what is fondly called "Bingo Lingo". Similar to the abbreviations and acronyms you might use when text messaging on your mobile phone, Bingo language is much the same. Here are some of the more popular acronyms you will come across and what they mean:
| AFK | Away from keyboard | BRB | Be Right Back | |
| BTW | By the way | CU | See You | |
| CUL8R | See you later | E1 | Everyone | |
| GG | Good going | GL | Good Luck | |
| GL E1 | Good luck everyone | GTG | Good To Go | |
| J/K | Joke (or, just kidding) | LOL | Laughing Out Loud | |
| MAWOY | May angels wait on you | OIC | Oh I See | |
| ROFL | Rolling on the floor laughing | THX | Thanks | |
| WD | Well done | WTG | Way To Go |
Jackpots
Most online Bingo games will have two prizes that you can win. The first smaller jackpot (or game pot) is made up from the value of all the cards bought by players for the current game. The more players in a game, the more this jackpot is likely to be. This jackpot is likely to be anything between £30 and £300 depending on which Bingo site you're playing on and the number of players buying cards. The second larger prize is called the progressive jackpot.
